Ransomware Hack of Royal Mail

6th February 2023

Royal Mail still hasn't been able to provide its normal service for international customers, but we are now able to utilise a similar service to dispatch outstanding orders. These will be sent today, tomorrow and Wednesday and therefore normal service can be considered to have resumed. However, we are not entirely convinced that Royal Mail will have ironed out all of the wrinkles from this issue,  so we expect further delays of sent packages despite hoping for timely deliveries. Many thanks to all out customers for their patience.

31st January 2023

We continue to send out our premium postage packages for customers who have chosen this option. The flat-rate postal items are still being held due to Royal Mail's ongoing problems. However, we have decided to release all packages of a value over £30 to the international tracked service. This means we do not make any money on these packages due to the postage costs, but the items will arrive with our Lairds and Ladies.

26th January 2023

Royal Mail have started to send out international tracked and signed items. If your package qualifies for free postage or, if you have chosen the premium (tracked) postage then we will send out your package immediately. Unfortunately for our flat-rate, Royal Mail are still not allowing untracked packages to be sent. We will update here when and as they provide the full service, which we are expecting at the end of the month.

A further update today:

"Following the recent cyber incident, we have now resumed international export despatches for all mail streams including parcels and letters across a growing number of destinations. We are making good progress in despatching items that are already in our network across all our services. Please note you may see less tracking information than usual as we continue to restore our services. At this time, we continue to ask customers not to submit new parcels for export as our initial focus is to clear mail that has already been processed and is waiting to be despatched."

Royal Mail promise to update further on this service resumption as soon as possible.

Royal Mail continues to work on their IT problems - here's the latest from their website:

"Royal Mail is experiencing severe service disruption to our international export services following a cyber incident.
"We are temporarily unable to despatch items to overseas destinations. To support faster recovery when our service is restored and to prevent a build-up of export items in our network, we’re asking customers not to post international items until further notice. Items that have already been despatched may be subject to delays. We would like to sincerely apologise to impacted customers for any disruption this incident is causing."

13th January 2023

Until the situation at Royal Mail is resolved we will not be sending out international mail. We anticipate the delay will be a few days only – that is the advice we are getting from Royal Mail. We will update matters here.
