Dunans Rising (tartan no. 10821) takes its inspiration from several sources: the colours and textures of the castle and castle policies, and in particular the exotic rhododendrons and splendid trees which surround this glorious B-listed structure; the light, love and laughter of the family who live on site, beside the castle; the building’s history and heritage; the community that lives in the glens and hills around Dunans; and lastly, and especially, our lairds and ladies – the community of interest from all over the world who visit the castle and its grounds on a regular and ongoing basis, whether in person, or virtually.

Woven exclusively by Bute Fabrics for Dunans Castle Limited, the Dunans Rising tartan has been registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans and is sold only on this website.

Dunans Rising is a 13oz tartan in a pure wool yarn, and is priced per metre. The tartan is specifically woven for kilt making and therefore has a double width of 156cms.

For those buying to make a kilt, a full 8 yard kilt will require 5m of fabric, and a 'sports kilt' 5 yards, or 3 metres. Please choose the relevant option below, and then the number of kilts you're want fabric for in the Quantity field.

We have limited stock, but we will take orders for cloth once the present rolls are finished. We estimate delivery on in-stock cloth will take between 14-21 days for delivery.  Out-of-stock orders will take a maximum of two months to deliver, but we expect to halve that time. We will contact you soon after order to confirm delivery time.
