Dear Lairds & Ladies,

You might think that if it is all kicking off, something had happened on the bridge, but no, I am not referring to the kerfuffle which so blighted 24/25. Instead I am announcing with admirable (I think!) hyperbole, that the planting has begun. There are links to relevant videos below, along with the planting plan for your reference. We are very exciting. 60,000 trees of native varieties, grown locally, will be planted over the next month by a cheerful team of folk, and by the end we will have the beginnings of a temperate rainforest. Wonderful!

O, and the kerfuffle. All quiet on that front. Once we had our inalienable right of access admitted by the opposition, things started to slow down, and we have had nothing for over 8 months. I am hopeful that is it, and the author of the kerfuffle has decided withdrawal is the better part of valour. Legal battles often end like this, with silence and a growing sense of validation rather than outright celebration. We will keep our fingers crossed ;-)
