WELCOME to the NEWSLETTER
for LAIRDS & LADIES
Dear Lairds & Ladies,
Welcome to a dreich and mizzled end of February update! The castle seemed to glower at me today, asking me to get on with the restoration ... And I keep reassuring our venerable ruin that the planting of the new woodland is the first step on an inevitable progress towards a full restoration (see my video here for more).
In that vein, work continues on the planting, but four ewes were spotted on Monday - cue a sheep patrol from yours truly. Luckily I decided to use it as a chance for a slow run and turned on strava. The resulting 3D progress video gives a great idea of the fence line, the shape of the hill and the position of Dunans in the South-west corner. I link to the associated films, plus some new contributions from Sadie, who is thoroughly enjoying getting up onto the hill. But first is the snagging survey I conducted while making my curcumambulation of the ground, including location of the sheep and potential weaknesses in the fenceline.
I am assured the fencing will be complete next week, and given we now have plants in the ground, it had better be - I'll report on that next time.
Our 25% discount on Lady titles for Mother's Day continues although numbers are reducing quickly!
Warmest regards as ever,
Charles & Sadie
